As you know, KYUEM exclusively offers Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) at AS and A level. We are proud of being part of the Cambridge "family" and our results, year on year, bear witness to the high quality of teaching and learning at this college. You will also know that in 2014 we achieved our best-ever results at A level, with the majority of our students gaining A* - B grades in their various subjects.

Today, I am delighted to announce details of another KYUEM success story. Each year, the CIE board honours students who are considered to be the Best in the World, Best in Country or have achieved a first-place average across a range of subjects. We usually receive a few of these annually, but in 2014 we truly surpassed ourselves: KYUEM students have obtained no less than ten such awards. These are the details:

  • Four KYUEM students have been awarded Best In World for Mathematics at A level
  • Four KYUEM students have been awarded Best in World for Mathematics at AS level
  • One KYUEM student has been awarded Best in World for Physics at AS level
  • One KYUEM student has been awarded First Place for getting the highest average across four separate AS level examinations

All of the students will be awarded certificates in a special ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday,November 27. Of course, the A level candidates will not be present as they have already left for university overseas, but I hope that all our successful AS level students will be there. We are also hopeful that some of their teachers will be able to attend. It will be a proud moment for all of us.

Please join me in wishing our ten world-beating scholars your heartiest congratulations!
